Last year I was asked on Instagram if I would fancy a day of tubing in the wild rivers of Bali for an American television show called Xtremewaterparks. Ehm, hello saying no would not even be an option: I’m a thrill seeker and I love to jump into the unknown. Little did I know that the day of shooting would be on the same day I had to fly to Kuala Lumpur. But I thought let’s call it a mission then.
“Life is a trip and I’m tripping on life”
It was such a fun experience because I was living in some sort of crazy vivid trip. One moment I was tubing in wild rivers and the next moment I was swimming in the Hanging Gardens of Bali. Did you say Hanging Gardens? Yes, like woah a dream come true. This resort has one of the most beautiful swimming pools in the world. It’s voted as “The Worlds Best Swimming Pool” by Conde Nast Traveller. And it’s probably the most photographed pool in the world. Oh, and did I mention the 7 stars they have? I mean I would never ever go to a fancy place like that with my backpacker’s lifestyle lol. (For one night you pay about $628.) You can enjoy a spa package for $200,- with pool entrance included.
An elevator that takes you to the swimming pool.
I live for these things. I mean whenever you open up to life and count your blessings – The most awesome beautiful crazy things can happen.
“Traveling puts people into a state of being open to what the world can offer. The movement to a different environment allows persons to afford a unique perspective on the world around them and their own nature. Altered state of consciousness without taking the LSD. 😉
Xtreme Waterparks Bali:
The island gal in Kuala Lumpur
After the shooting, I got a ride to the airport to catch my flight to Kuala Lumpur. I was kind of bummed out to leave Bali behind for a 3-day-trip in the big city. I was so used to the energy and vibes of the island that the thought of KL made me a bit anxious. After a flight of 3 hours, I finally arrived. Yes, I say ‘finally‘ because I was getting claustrophobic in the freaking airplane. hahahah. The first thing that happened at 1 O clock midnight: I got ripped by a taxi driver because little did I know I took a more fancy car. Damn. I was getting sucked into the giant matrix again. The next morning I went to explore the area aka killing-time-to-fly-back-to-paradise-Bali-again.
I was staying in Bukit Bintang; the shopping Valhalla of Kuala Lumpur. It was kind of funny to walk around in these massive malls because I had no interest in shopping. When you are traveling for 9 months you really don’t want to walk around with a heavy backpack. You start to value beautiful moments instead of stuff you don’t really need.
Hello Patronas Towers..
Some unnatural planted trees in a park.
Found my travel buddy Modesta in China Town. We met in Vietnam ‘under a coconut tree’; the best hostel in Hoi An. In China Town you can find the best heavenly Indian food! Look at our happy faces..
<3 <3 If life is but a dream, i’mma make sure it’s one hell of a dream. 😉
