I may be back home in The Netherlands but I will do whatever it takes to keep my wandering soul alive. I’m so excited to explore more of the country where I was born. The energy, the curiosity to see everything for the first time and again and again. It’s fun walking around with the camera and collecting these precious memories with photographs. I decided to go to the forest today. To disconnect to connect. The healing of nature:
Disconnect to connect; get in touch with nature
Me and my old folks decided to go for a walk in our backyard. It’s not really our backyard but my hometown is 15 minutes from the forest in Nunspeet. It’s amazing to walk around in this area because it’s always there. The birds, the trees, the smells, the little pathways. It’s like I forgot there is a whole world out there. The world keeps spinning around but it seems that when you are surrounded by nature it’s easier to be more present.
Nature has a beautiful way of removing distractions and thoughts in our monkey mind. And it has a unbelievable capacity for healing. A sense of recognizing that we are one with the universe, entering the timeless. All of your five senses (smell, taste, touch, sound and sight) are activited once you walk into nature. Look how the sunrays are touching the leaves, notice the smell of the fresh mud underneath your feet.
This experience allows balance and healing and to fully appreciate our lives. When you are surrounded by nature you consciously practice to silently witness and to observe things, internally and externally. What is happening inside of you?
“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” – Albert Einstein
The Veluwe is a forest-rich ridge of hills (1100 km2) in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands. It has many beautiful different landscapes and Europe’s largest sand drifts. Check out some of the pictures below:
When was the last time you walked around in nature? 🙂 xxx
